April Cha

Instructional Designer

April Cha is an Instructional Designer in the Digital Learning Hub at the Teaching + Learning Commons. She supports faculty in the development of courses for online learning, and encourages the use of technology to extend the classroom and create an avenue for all learners. April is an alumna of UC Riverside and holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education. After several years teaching and working with language learners, first-years and non-traditional students, she moved into curriculum development and learning management system administration. She completed training in Quality Matters and collaborated with faculty to develop courses for online delivery. In 2013, she joined UC San Diego as an Instructional Technologist supporting faculty and departments in successful implementation of the campus learning management system (TritonEd), writing and grading platforms (Turnitin, Google Classroom, Gradescope), and various collaborative tools. In 2018, she joined the Digital Learning Hub and is excited to bring her technical experience and knowledge of educational technology integration to the Teaching + Learning Commons.
