Kim Elias joined the Teaching + Learning Commons in May 2016 as the inaugural Engaged Learning Tools Coordinator. In this new role, Kim will collaborate with departments across campus to promote UCSD’s suite of Engaged Learning Tools to students, staff, and faculty. She will have primary administrative oversight of the Research Experience Applied Learning (REAL) Portal and the Co-Curricular Record (CCR), and will work with Career Services on the Electronic Portfolio (Portfolium) and with the Registrar’s Office on the Enhanced Electronic Transcript (E2T).
Kim spent the last four years focused on the Co-Curricular Record, where she was involved in coordinating and implementing the CCR at the University of Toronto, leading the national Canadian CCR movement, and doing her master’s thesis on employer perceptions of co-curricular engagement and the CCR. Kim has expanded this focus to explore the relationship of the CCR and the academic transcript, where she has started her PhD in Higher Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
