Remote Writing Support for Graduate Students
The Writing Hub offers a variety of writing support programs to graduate students at UC San Diego. Academic writing projects can be complex, long-term, and stressful. That's why we build networks of support around graduate students to help them succeed in their writing and thrive in their programs. Our aim is to support your success and well-being, one writing project at a time!
From one-on-one consultations with graduate writing consultants, to in-depth writing retreats and graduate-level writing workshops, the Writing Hub can help you make progress on your project and gain confidence as an academic writer.
ALL of our graduate student programs will be offered through online/remote-access formats until further notice. Wherever you are, we've still got you covered!
Online Writing Consultations
Meet virtually with a Writing Consultant for supportive, in-depth conversations about your writing, at any stage of the process. Online consultations allow for real-time conversation and document sharing.
Graduate Writing Retreats
Attend a graduate writing retreat to help make progress on your writing project and develop more positive and productive writing practices.
Grad Writing Workshops
We hold weekly workshops on a variety of graduate-level writing topics. Learn, discuss, explore, and practice alongside other grad students. All workshops will now be offered remotely!
Workshops for New Grad Students
The Grad Student Essentials workshop series explores key topics for writing at the graduate level, addressing topics and questions that are specifically relevant to new graduate students.
(Virtual) Writing Room
A supportive and focused time and space for you to make progress on your writing projects. Writing Room has gone virtual until further notice, so BYOC (bring your own coffee)! Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:00am.
Dissertation Writer's Workshop
The Dissertation Writer's Workshop is a hybrid between our workshops and writing retreats. This 3-part series is designed to demystify the dissertation and help you make progress toward your defense.
