Jennifer Coplea

Associate Director of Academic Achievement

Jennifer Coplea spent the last eight years working at the University of California, Riverside as Coordinator of the CNAS Learning Communities program. Program development included academic scheduling, summer orientation, recruitment events, first-year seminars, workshops, undergraduate research, and partnering with academic advisors, residential housing, enrollment managers, Registrar, academic support offices, and faculty. At UCR, she developed several student programs, including the Peer Mentors, Peer Academic Leaders, Peer Advisors, First-Year Graders, and Student Assistant positions. She also oversaw a sophomore STEM program that targeted first-generation students. Prior to that, she spent five years as an Associate Director at La Sierra University, overseeing first-year seminars, first-year orientation and academic advising, supervision of Academic Advising Coaches, and advising pre-health students. Jennifer also earned a Teaching English as a Second Language certification and has spent several years teaching in areas related to ESL/TESOL. Jennifer continues to be an advocate for academic and student program development, exploring first-year programming, assessment, first-generation students, current issues in pedagogy, diversity issues, and other trending issues in higher education. 

Jennifer earned a Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) in Curriculum and Instruction, Master of Arts in Teaching, and Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (elementary education) with a Minor in Music from La Sierra University.
