Rita Keil

Research Data Analyst

Rita Keil is a Research Data Analyst for the Teaching + Learning Commons in the Education Research and Assessment Hub. The Education Research and Assessment Hub supports student and faculty success by measuring learning outcomes, determining the impact of university programs, and providing evidence to support education strategies. Rita’s work involves data management and analysis of student and faculty engagement with university programming, as well as data support for university accreditation.

Rita holds a B.S. in Environmental Science and a B.A. in Italian Language with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Pittsburgh (2018). Prior to joining the Commons, Rita worked in a variety of environmental science settings, from field work in urban wetlands and mountains, to lab work with permafrost at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She has also explored the field of data science, as a post-bachelor’s researcher at Oak Ridge and a digital humanities scholar at the Heinz History Center Archives. She values how the field of data science allows her to work in a variety of disciplines, which keeps her learning. Her goal in data science is to make information more useful, accessible, and beneficial to communities. She is happy to work with the Commons team to support student and faculty achievement.
