Eric Peloza

Senior Instructional Designer

Eric Peloza is a Senior Instructional Designer with the Teaching + Learning Commons. He works with instructors to design and develop online courses that are engaging, student-centered, and award-winning. As a former returning adult student, Eric has witnessed the power of education firsthand and draws motivation in helping to provide the same opportunity to others. During his time as a student, he discovered his passion for the instructional design field. Since then, Eric has pursued a career in instructional design with a focus on online learning. He has completed several certificates in online learning from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and achieved his master’s in education from Purdue University in Learning Design and Technology.

 

Prior to joining UCSD, Eric worked at University of Wisconsin System for over seven years. He led the design and development of online courses for several programs and online learning formats. Specifically, building and leading the instructional design of the UW Applied Biotechnology online program, in which he worked with dozens of instructors from several UW campuses. He also enjoys interacting in the instructional design community of practice presenting at conferences, contributing to articles and blogs, and serving on the Association for Distance Education and Independent Learning Board of Directors.
