Ysabel Nevarez is a proud first-generation Latina and is a two-time graduate of San Diego State University with a BA in Liberal Studies and a MA in Mathematics Education. Ysabel joined the Teaching and Learning Commons in January 2024 after previously serving the San Diego K-12 communities as a bilingual classroom educator. During her years of classroom teaching, she developed a profound understanding of the importance of personalized support in order to enhance students' educational experiences. Ysabel brings a strong commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education that aligns with the mission of the Teaching and Learning Commons. In her free time, she enjoys discovering books to read, taking scenic walks, and sipping warm coffee.
