Mimi Phung

 Mimi Phung is an Instructional Designer at the Teaching + Learning Commons. She started her career in learning as a high school teacher where she taught English Language Arts. As a teacher, she focused on creating inclusive and student-centered learning environments and curricula. Using her skills in education, Mimi then transitioned into instructional design for a global manufacturing company, creating video content, e-learning, job aids, and performing LMS administration. She joined UCSD in 2024 as an Instructional Designer 2. 

Mimi also enjoys contributing to the field of learning and development by speaking at conferences. She has presented at the Learning Guild and was a member of the Learning Guild’s 30 Under Thirty cohort in 2022. In her free time, she takes her cat on walks, watches Star Wars, and reads on the beach.
