Kayleigh Setoda

Instructional Designer

Kayleigh Setoda is an Instructional Designer at the Teaching + Learning Commons. Before joining the Commons, they were a lecturer in the Analytical Writing Program (AWP) at UCSD, where they taught argumentative writing. Their teaching style emphasized inclusive and accessible, student-centered learning. While working with AWP, Kayleigh completed an E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate to develop their design skills and create interactive learning content for online learning. During their studies, they ventured into transitioning from an educator to an instructional designer because they wanted to share their knowledge and help others create more accessible, interactive, and anti-racist eLearning.

Kayleigh has a M.A in English, where they were researching literature about the Hemispheric Americas in the 18th & 19th centuries through an ecocritical approach. When they are not working, you can find them roller skating, crocheting, writing, or curling up with a good book.
