Marie Schier

Supplemental Instruction Coordinator

Marie is the SI Coordinator at the Teaching + Learning Commons – Academic Achievement Hub. Marie completed her B.B.A. in Finance and Media Business, as well as her M.S. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Baylor University, and has been serving in higher education for the past six years. Prior to her role in the AAH, Marie served as Program Manager at the Student Success Center Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) Program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Additionally, Marie has also served as an Academic Advisor for Engineering and Computer Science students, as well as a graduate assistant for Greek Life. In these roles, Marie sought to create programming that fostered a caring, equitable, and supportive community for all students. Her philosophy is that such a community, filled with diverse learners, will create a more dynamic, holistic experience for every student, more able to serve their communities and the world at large. As the SI Coordinator, Marie hopes to create a welcoming, caring community of learners, as well as equip the next generation of change-makers with the skills needed to solve problems in our community, our society, and our world.
