John Herd

John is an Instructional Designer at the Teaching + Learning Commons. He is a UC San Diego alumnus with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and his undergraduate studies focused on mathematics, linguistics, and deep learning methods. Along with his studies, he worked with the Digital Learning Hub as a student intern supporting and building content for a variety of UC San Diego’s online Data Science Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

John completed his Master’s Program in Learning Design and Technology at the University of Southern California in 2023. He hopes to use his education to increase the quantity and quality of online and hybrid courses in Math and Data Science fields.
